First and foremost there are not much of us bloggers throughout the Caribbean that blog on a full-time bases, that I am aware of or have ever met. So, I can only talk from my own personal experiences.

I would have to say that both blogging and the social media has come a very long way from when I first started to blog in 2015 on another blog Just Write Peach. It has undoubtedly and indefinitely create a whole new world and career path for me – in positioning me and pushing towards accomplishing my goals and following my dreams – a role that I wholeheartedly accept, despite the journey is not easy and the road, as it is not a quick fix and it’s harder than working an 8 to 4 job.

Since the beginning of this month, after the tables had turned and not been able to find another job, I decided to take the ultimate leap and embrace the opportunity to become a full-time blogger working from home and later to travel across the Caribbean and even around the world, doing what I do best blogging, just in the natural beauty and lifestyle niche and even include some beauty copywriting, while I at it.

I have found some great ways in which has helped me work more efficient and better while working from home as a natural beauty blogger – that I thought it would be great to share them with you.
1.) Having a morning routine and sticking to it – Even thou, I have only been home this month, I am still an early riser, I get up at 7:00 a.m., and see what I can do around the house, carry out the trash, wash whatever dishes that the folks or m siblings left in the dishwasher, make sure the house is cleaned up. My step-father owns a Play Whe Center, (since he is not mobile enough to go to shop) I have to go every morning before 8:00 a.m., to see that everything is place and the shop is clean, so that when his workers come to work they get a clean place to work in.

Then come home, take a shower, using some of the products which I have to test and review to post on my blog, or my other staple products, which I rarely mentioned because they are not locally made, like my Suave Natural Body Wash and others. I love breakfast, so that is a must and then it off to either writing or blogging away on my laptop. My morning routine changes up from time to time, as I have to travel to town to purchase items and deal with other pressing transactions, even visiting the library in Scarborough, Tobago.

2.) Separating my work space from my living space – I truly admire a lot of bloggers that can separate or balance both their work space and living space, which I am not one of them. There’s no free area or room in my house, which is really my great-grandfather and passed down to my mother. Every area and space in the house in occupied and living on a hill, there’s no free land space either to say construct a small office. I have turned a half of my bedroom space into my blogging area and work station, which is bad, I do know that; I have been able to keep my entire room clean on a daily bases and my workstation is always tidy and only packed with what I have to use on a daily bases, and one can find lots of notebooks and pens, as I love to write everything down before I publish it on my blog.

I have been looking at office spaces outside and even small buildings in which, I can renovate and refurbish in turning it into my small office and even a studio, as I love to take photos and I am also embarking on including beauty copywriting (writing product descriptions) for natural skincare and beauty brands into the beauty blogging mix. I’ll need a good office space in which to operate, but so far, the ones that I have seen and viewed are all out of my price range and over the budget. I will have to just keep my blogging area for the time being, until I can afford to get an office space outside the house.

3.) Dress like you’re going to the office – No matter what anyone says, that it’s easier to work more better and get things done in ones pajamas, maybe cleaning the house, getting the kids ready for school and other minor things to get down around the house, but when it comes to work, it’s a total NO-NO. I love leggings and jeans, and having myself looking, smelling and feeling better and energized in the morning. I do miss the work suits look and wear on mornings, who doesn’t, but when it comes to working from home, causal or formal clothing is a plus.

4.) Take time out for a change of scenery – Yes, working from home is great, I will never argue with you on that one, but sometimes, you have to just step out of the house. Well for me, the library, the local coffee shop and cafe is a plus, especially times when there’s less distractions. I love the library, it is the next best place to go and be than at the office. I get to walk with my laptop and only a bottled water, but at least I can get a lot of things done there, than even at home.

Do you have any advice that I might have missed out on – for those working from home?
